Description
This photograph shows the large stone fireplace in the living room of the Argyle Inn. Though such features as this fireplace seems out of place for a luxury inn, it may have been this juxtaposition that the patrons of the Argyle Inn sought for their summer vacations.
The Argyle Inn was open from 1908 to 1916 and sought the vacation business of rusticators, or persons who wanted to enjoy a rural environment with all of the amenities of urban life.
