Description
These baby shoes were in a suitcase found in Rangeley along with other memorabilia of John Edward Barry.
Barry, who was born in 1925, was brought up in Mexico in a foster family. The suitcase containing these baby shoes, a school portrait, letters home, photographs of his birth parents, souvenirs, his Social Security card, a Purple Heart citation, and a number of other items related to his life was discovered in the attic of the Rangeley Inn around 2003. The suitcase was eventually donated to the Mexico Historical Society.
