Description
In this photograph, Elwin French and Albion Johnson, the last Monson Narrow Gauge Railroad engineer and fireman, pose next to engine number 3, the line's last train.
The Monson Narrow Gauge Railroad operated from 1893 to 1945. Elwin French served as the engineer for the last twelve years of the railroad. Engine numbers three and four were taken to Edaville, in South Carver Massachusetts to transport tourists on sightseeing excursions through the cranberry bogs.
