Description
This photograph shows a small engine on the Monson narrow gauge railroad that has been cutting through a large amount of snow with its attached plow. Five unidentified men can be seen standing and sitting on the train posing for this picture. This type of plow was later replaced by a much larger wedge plow which had an opening for the plow operator to see what was happening ahead of him. The newer plow also allowed the operator to raise and lower the flange blade located under the car.
