Description

Walter and Grace Jackson lived in this home on South Main Street in Monson. Walter operated a grocery store in Monson and was one of the founders and manager of the Monson Cornet Band.

The Cornet band was organized in September of 1887 and played under Jackson's direction. The band performed throughout the area in concert and parades. Jackson also gave music lessons at the Masonic Hall. He died in 1922.
