Description
This view faces south and shows one of the early trains crossing Main Street in Princeton. This steam locomotive, named the Eagle, was part of the St.Croix and Penobscot Railroad which terminated in Princeton at the Steamboat Wharf. In 1899 this railroad became known as the Washington County Railroad.
The building on the far left is a hotel which later became known as The Princeton House. To the right of the hotel is H.L. Buck's store, which first appeared in the Maine Register in 1873.
