Description
This photograph is of the Asticou Inn in Northeast Harbor from around 1925. The photographer and exact date are unknown although it is known that this photograph is of the second Inn building built after the fire of 1900, which destroyed the original building that dated from 1883.
Fred L. Savage (1861-1924) was the architect for this building and several of the other "cottages" associated with the Asticou Inn and the surrounding community of Northeast Harbor. Fred L. Savage was a family member of the Savage Family that owned and managed the Inn from its inception (1883) to its sale to Asti-Kim Corporation in 1964.
