Description

The Princeton Grange float was one of 20 floats in the Princeton Centennial Parade on July 5, 1932. Riding on the hay wagon is Peter Carle; Shirley Guptill is driving the oxen.

Princeton Grange No. 293 was organized on December 2, 1887 with regular meetings the first and third Saturday of each month. Its first members hailed mostly from West Princeton and South Princeton, these two sections of town being connected by family and the "Jerusalem Road."

The Grange was a thriving center of social activities and advanced agricultural instruction and systems in agricultural communities.
