Description
This float was made to advertise A.M. Nason's Lumber Mill for the Centennial celebration parade held on July 5, 1932 in Princeton. Arthur McLaughlin is pictured driving the float with his wife Maude by his side, and Ray McLaughlin is sitting on the running board of the truck. Nason's saw mill was a major source of employment for Princeton people, and was owned by Ally M. Nason of Monticello.
Princeton was incorporated in February of 1832. According to the records of of early settlers Princeton was named after the town of Princeton Massachusetts where Ebenezer Rolfe, one of the early town members hailed from.
