Description
Frederic W. Lane of Milo was 24 when he enlisted as a sergeant in Co. B of the Maine 20th Infantry Regiment on April 20, 1863.
Lane was promoted to 2nd lieutenant on April 20, 1863. He died in a rebel hospital on May 14, 1864 of wounds received at the Battle of the Wilderness.
Before the war, Lane was a teacher.
