Description
This photograph depicts the old Iron Bridge in Westbrook as it looked about 1880. The bridge, which spans the Presumpscot river on Bridge Street, was a "Parker's wrought iron truss bridge" built at a cost of $5893.33 in 1871.
National Bridge Works Company, owned by Blodgett & Curry of Boston, built the bridge.
The large building to the right of the bridge in this photograph is the Westbrook Manufacturing Co.
