Description
This building, Westbrook High School, was built in 1886, at a cost of $20,616.00 and dedicated on May 8, 1887. It remained the high school until 1956, when it became the Westbrook Junior High School, until it closed in 1976.
The high school that preceded the Westbrook High School, was built in 1850 and moved from this site to Valentine Street where it became the Valentine Street grammar school. As of 2013 the old Westbrook High School building has been converted to apartments for the elderly, which is called Presumpscot Commons.
