Description
In the spring of 1931 members of the Baptish Church Sunday School Class posed for this photograph seated on the steps of the church. The Pastor at the time was Rev. E.A. Rockwell.
The Baptist Church was founded in 1827 and held services until 1933 when the members began to have joint services with the Congregational Church. Later the two buildings were physically joined when the Baptist church was moved to Main Street and set along the side of the former Congregational Church. It has since been known as the Monson Community Church.
Shown in this photograph in the front row are: Phyllis Leighton, Erma Snow, Janette Pullen, Lillian Strout, and Bertha Sandberg. Sitting in the back row are: Eleanor Simpson, Elizabeth Emanuelson, Sarah Davidson, Margurite Johnson, and Corinne Greenleaf.
