Description
"The water showing is the back channel during the freshet of December 16, 1901. The wreck of the suspension bridge is shown. The white spot in the river surface is foam caused by the wires of the bridge which are dragging and bouncing in the water. This wreck was caused by the Madison toll bridge."
~Roland T. Patten, Custodian of Historical Views, 1929
