Description
The adult reading area of the Walker Memorial Library looking towards Main Street in Westbrook.
The construction of the library was funded by a bequest from Joseph Walker (1800-1891), a local businessman, and the library was dedicated in 1894. Walker made his fortune in the lumber trade and other related areas, such as repairing dams, surveying, and construction.
