Description
This photograph depicts school children and their teacher at the South Waterford School around 1890. On the front of the photograph is written "School at So. Waterford, Around 1890 Should Say", and on the back of the photograph, in pencil, is written "Jennie M. Plummer" (probably the teacher) and "Waterford School." It is suspected that these annotations were made by Flora Hamlin Abbott, founding member of Waterford Historical Society.
The South Waterford School was a two-room school that was held in the lower level of the Bear Mt. Grange/Universalist Church building.
