Description
On June 24th, 1972, during the town Sesquicentennial celebration, the Monson Museum was officially opened to the public. Eloise Stevens, Chairman of the Museum Committee and Treasurer of the Tisbury Manor Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is shown in this photograph conducting the ribbon cutting.
Also involved on the committee were Neola Jacobson, Myra Moulton who was President of the Monson Massachusetts Historical Society, and Selectman Paul Allen. Robert Lander, Town Manger, presented the Historical Society with its first donation, which was from the Monson Sesquicentennial Committee.
