Description
This portrait of Kate Douglas Wiggin, taken by photographer Charles Moody, is titled Rebecca at the Well and appeared in the Saturday Evening Post as well as the British literary journal The Bookman. This phototgraph was also used for postcard-style publicity images, which were sometimes signed by the author.
Wiggin was the author of Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm and other novels. Wiggin, her family, and her home in Buxton/Hollis, named Quillcote, were photographed extensively by Saco photographer Charles E. Moody.
