A complimentary ticket was issued for the Montgomery Guards' Fifth Annual Ball held in Portland on January 17, 1877. The Montgomery Guards were an all Irish-American volunteer militia.
Text on the ticket reads, "Portland Montgomery Guards Fifth Annual Ball. City Hall, Wednesday Evening, January 17, 1877. Complimentary Admit ___________ & Ladies."
