Description
Several veterans of the 5th Maine Regiment gave this carved gangway board, believed to be from the U.S.S. Hartford, Admiral David Glasgow Farragut's flagship during the Civil War.
The Hartford was used during Union efforts to gain control of the Mississippi River and Gulf ports.
