Description
Pictured here are Amy Kronholm, her daughter Lila Kronholm and an unidentified child. All three are dressed in costumes for the Monson Victory over Japan (VJ Day) Parade, held on August 15, 1945, to celebrate the end of World War Two.
Kronholm had three sons that served in the war, Aubrey, Colby, and Casey. Aubrey and Colby Kronholm served in the army, while Casey Kronholm served in the Navy.
During the VJ Day parade fifty women, many accompanied by children, marched in two columns along with members of the Monson Band, American Legion, Scout Troops, and a truck carrying Emperor Hirohito in effigy.
