Description
This photograph shoes S. D. Warren's float entry in Westbrook's Centennial parade on June 9, 1914. The driver of the wagon was Ed Hulit, with Mr. Tondreau standing next to him. Seated on the float are, from left, Dora Sullivan, Mina Mickelson Paradis, Hattie Johnson Mayberry and Marion Shaw Goff.
The Westbrook Centennial Celebration was a three-day event. The first day, Sunday, featured special religious services in the morning and evenings at all the local churches, with a "Sacred Concert" at Riverbank park.
Monday was Children's Day with a Children's parade canoe races and pageant, and a baseball game.
The last day featured a grand military, civic and trades parade, dedication of Riverbank park, military drilling and a baseball game. Wrapping up both the day and the celebration was a fireworks display.
