Description
This float in Westbrook's Centennial Parade on June 9, 1914, was entered by the S. D. Warren Council #4, of the Order of United American Mechanics.
Manning the float are, from left, Newell Lowell, Frank Porter, Calvin Porter and Arthur Wood.
A fraternal organization that began in Philadelphia in 1845, the Order of United American Mechanics was a patriotic, social and benevolent group that promoted the employment of native-born workers over immigrants.
