Description
This early Town Report opens with amounts spent on state tax, county tax and money raised for highways, the poor and the schools.
It follows with a list of expenses before 1856. The first section lists the amounts paid to individuals who performed labor on the roads. The next gives a list of money paid to individuals who worked on both the roads and the bridges in Berwick.
Following incidental expenses, the report concludes with the account for the Town Farm, which provided sustenance to the poor in the community.
This report lists the Selectmen of Berwick at that time as: Kendall Gibbs, Charles Guptill and Luther S. Libby. The report was audited by Samuel W. Fox, John M. Hanson and Isaac P. Fall.
