Description
This photograph depicts the Flagstaff crew, 178th company, of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The back of the photograph reads "Gravel Pit at Bigelow Mt."
The CCC was active from 1933 until 1942.
Francis Goodwin, of Madison, Maine sent this photograph to Norman Wetherington in 1993. Weathering collected memories of CCC members in Maine, and coordinated CCC reunions. He is the author of "In the Public Interest: The Civilian Conservation Corps in Maine."
