Description
Daicey Dam on the Wissataquoik in a photo taken after the fire of 1884. Logs turned adrift from a landing soon piled up on shore. These logs are known as "rear.
Picking off the rear was 90 percent of the work of the river driver.
The river also is known as the Wassataquoik.
