Description
Sumner C. Rand's name is on a certificate for three shares of Portland Company stock, dated July 1881.
George F. Morse, treasurer; and by E.H. Daveis, president of the Portland Company, signed the certificate.
The company sold stock to support its growing manufacturing needs. The Portland Company was a locomotive fabricator and steel foundry. They built a variety of engines.
