Description
"George F. Reynolds, assistant manager of the Portland Company, and his wife are driving in a 1907 air-cooled Knox runabout with a rear mother-in-law seat in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Many automobiles of this era carried two, three, or more spare tires, as the rubber and roads were both so bad that one might have several flats to contend with on a single motor trip."--Fletcher, David H. 'The Portland Company 1846-1982.' Charleston, S.C. : Arcadia Pub., 2002. 78.
