Ulmer Quarry and the Pleasant Street bridge, Rockland, ca. 1875

Description

This view shows the Ulmer Quarry and the Pleasant Street Bridge at the south end of the quarries along Old County Road, in Rockland near the Thomaston line. The quarry workers are breaking the limestone into head-sized pieces, by hand, and loading them into the horse-drawn teamster wagons to be hauled to the kilns along the Rockland Harbor.
