Description
Rebecca Usher of Hollis, who was about 19, wrote to her sister, Ellen Usher Sands, about her trip to Quebec with her father, Ellis B. Usher.
Rebecca wrote from Three Rivers, Quebec, noting that she had visited a convent school there and hoped to attend it.
She and her father traveled through New Hampshire, staying with friends along the way. Usher described the places they visited and various events of the trip. She describes sailing into Quebec City's harbor and seeing the Plains of Abraham. A fellow passenger described the story of the Battle of 1759 between the French and the English.
