Contributed by Millinocket Fire Department
Description
The Millinocket Fire Department built the Pioneer Hose Company Engine #2 by adapting an army surplus 3/4 ton truck. Roger "Sonny" Higgins and Howard "Moose" Mehlman refurbished the engine during 1978-1979. Millinocket Foundry donated the facilities and materials for the project.
In 1988 Engine #2 was sold to the University of Maine for use at the American University of Les Cayes, Haiti, where it was the first fire engine in the city.
