Description
A view of the Old Chain Bridge from south of the holding dam of the Mill Pond, Kingfield, circa 1895.
The chain bridge was an early suspension bridge built in 1852, one of the first such bridges in Maine.
The bridge was replaced by a concrete bridge in 1916. The early wood crib dam on the Mill Pond visible in the foreground was also replaced with a more permanent structure.
