Description
A pair of women engage in a tennis match on the Squirrel Island courts around 1915, while the judges and ballboys look on.
Long a favorite summer activity on the island, the current seaside location of the "new" tennis courts was established around 1910.
The women tennis players wear stylish full clothing typical of the day, the length of their dresses shortened to above their ankles to allow for some mobility on the court.
