Description
The Greek Orthodox community moved into this church in 1967 though they had been established in the community since 1910. Originally located in downtown Lewiston, the church was founded to serve the approximately 3,000 Greeks who had come to the area to work in the mills. While that population declined when the mills began to close, the Greek community in Lewiston remains very active and hosts an annual Greek festival.
