Description
Postcard of the Charles A. Stephens Laboratory at Pennesseewassee Lake in Norway.
Stephens built the lab, which was razed in 1953, to provide space for researchers to find a cure for aging.
He is best known as a prolific author of short stories and books for young people.
A trained doctor, he used cytology to discover and study the aging processes in cells and hoped to find ways to prevent them.
The back of the postcard reads: "Nov. 10th /21, Very best good wishes from the old Laboratory, with hopes for your speedy return to excellent health and Norway, Marie Scalar Stephens"
