Description
Snow roller on Bridge Street, Springvale, circa 1900. Before the advent of the automobile snow was packed down by huge rollers such as this to make travel easier by horse-drawn sleigh.
The Fogg Block in the background, left, housed Walter Remick's grocery store and Willis H. Folsom's furniture business. Walter Remick moved to Main Street soon after this photograph was taken, but lost that store in the 1905 fire.
