Description
The first church in St. Agatha was built in 1890. Land for the new church was donated to the Diocese of Portland by Israel Roy dit Voisine.
Fr. Ernest Etenaud, along with three carpenters, Edouard Lachance, Hilaire Ouellette and Charles Baron, built the church.
Bishop Healy was unable to officiate at the dedication of the church due to illness. Monseigneur Rogers de Chatham, N.B. presided over the the first official ceremony at the new church.
