Description
Charles H. Towle can be seen on his Towle's Hardware float getting ready for Dixfield's big 4th of July parade in 1920. The float is quite elaborate and decked out with the tool panels from the cupboards in his store. It was a unique way to showcase store merchandise. The float is mounted on the store truck. Charles owned the store from 1911 until the early 1950s when his son John L. Towle assumed ownership.
