Description
Bert Dutil of Lewiston served in the Korean War, first as an infantryman in the US Army and later as a member of the Neutral Nations Inspection Team. After basic training, Bert enrolled in the military band.
His deployment to Korea was originally as a drummer, but at the last minute he was reassigned to the infantry.
Upon discharge and return to Lewiston, Bert went on to found the Pine Tree Warriors Drum and Bugle Corps, a primarily Franco-American marching band for children.
