Description
Kiah B. Sewall wrote from New York to his wife, Lucretia Day Sewall in Portland. The couple had only been married a little more than three months when he wrote about love, marriage and his desire to see her.
Sewall was in New York trying to get out of debt. He also planned to study law.
Sewall (1807-1865), a native of Edgecomb and an 1829 graduate of Bowdoin College, had gotten into debt through land speculation.
