Description
This view shows Rockland businesses on the west side of Main Street at the corner of Spring Street. Beginning at the right foreground the buildings include the 2 1/2-story, wooden Farnsworth Building, the 3-story, brick Hewett Building, and across Spring Street the 3-story, frame Union Block. The Farnsworth Building contains the Gould & Perry Boots, Shoes & Clothing store on the first floor and the Offices of the Sanford Line of Boats on the second floor. The Hewett Block contains the Hewett & Jackson Dry Goods Co. The Union Block contains J.S. Willoughby Millinery & Fancy Goods on the first floor and Ferdinand Singhi, Hairdresser, and Francis Singhi, Hairdresser, on the second floor.
