Description
This photograph looks toward the Buck's Harbor Yacht Club float in South Brooksville, with four Turnabout-class catboats under sail and a Dark Harbor 17 sloop lying at a mooring.
The powerboat may be pulled up at the float to take the children pictured out to their boats to join in the racing, or to watch. The lobster boat in the background is identified with big registration numbers painted on her bow, which was a wartime requirement; however, turnabouts did not appear until 1953.
