Looking south on Main Street from the Spofford Block in Rockland, one sees the Thorndike Hotel on the left with Samuel K. Macomber's Jewelry Store on the corner of Sea Street (now Tillson Avenue). Across Tillson Avenue is the two-story, Italianate Ulmer Block and beyond that is the three-story Burpee Block. Beyond the Burpee Block, the building with the cupola on its roof in the distance is the Berry Brothers Stable.
