Description
The Veneer Products Company, also known as the Atlas Plywood Company and various other names through the years, was located on the shores of Moosehead Lake in Greenville.
It played an important part in the economics of the region and in the daily activity of the residents. For many residents the day revolved around the mill whistle, which blew 10 times a day. The whistle indicated a variety of times including the 6:45 a.m. Wake Up and the 4:30 Quit Time.
