Description

The Veneer Products Company, located in Greenville, originally known as the Veneer Box and Panel Company, was founded by V. W. Macfarlane in 1890. The plant was destroyed by fire in 1905.

However, due to Macfarlane's commitment to the region, the plant was rebuilt on a much larger scale. The company did much to increase employment opportunities in the Moosehead Lake region.

The plant continued operating under various names and ownership until the mid 1970s.
