Atlas Plywood Mill, Greenville, 1937

Description

This photograph shows an outside view of the Atlas Plywood Mill in Greenville. The mill originally known as the Veneer Box and Panel Company was purchased by the Atlas Plywood Corporation in 1925.

The mill was owned by various people and companies until the mid 1970s when it ceased business. At various times the mill employed up to 350 people.

In addition to a very large woodpile, a car, a truck and a horse are visible on the frozen surface of Moosehead Lake.
