William B. Adams letter from near Richmond, Va., 1862

Description
William B. Adams of Raymond, a fifer with the 5th Maine Infantry, wrote to his sister from a camp near Richmond, Virginia, reporting on a long march the regiment had made overnight and reports of a skirmish.
He told her they had just received their blue uniform pants and expected shirts soon. He also commented on battlefield artifacts he had sent home.
