Description
William B. Adams, who enlisted in the 5th Maine Regiment in June 1861, wrote to his sister Dora that he and others who stayed in the army from that regiment were now part of the 7th Maine, which was made up of soldiers from the 5th and 6th regiments.
His regiment was now building brass works at Hallstown, Virginia, and he expected they would stay there for "some days."
