Description
Rebecca Usher (1821-1919) of Hollis served as a volunteer nurse during the Civil War, first in Chester, Pennsylvania, then in City Point, Virgina.
On May 1, 1865, she wrote to Mat, describing her feelings about President Lincoln and his assassination. Lincoln was assassinated on April 14, 1865.
