Description
This postcard depicts the steamboat Monhegan approaching the Jameson & Wotton Wharf in mid-winter. The Monhegan had the reputation for being very good in the ice, as this picture shows.
Built in 1903, the steamboat passed through the hands of a number of owners over the years before it was finally wrecked off Providence, Rhode Island, in a 1938 hurricane.
